What is Namaste Edogawa?

Namaste Edogawa is a civic organization launched in 2020, primarily active in Edogawa City, Tokyo.
Tokyo is the prefecture with the highest number of foreign residents in Japan. Among its wards, Edogawa ranks second after Shinjuku in terms of foreign resident population. In particular, the number of Indian residents has been increasing by approximately 1,000 each year since 2022.
As Japan faces an aging society and a continuing increase in foreign residents, Edogawa can be seen as a microcosm of multicultural coexistence in Japan.
With the aim of becoming a role model for a compassionate and harmonious society where Indians and Japanese understand and live together, Namaste Edogawa promotes personal exchange activities focusing on the following three main initiatives.
①Cultural Exchange
②HOME VISIT
③Life Support
